Choo-Choo, Owen turns 2!

It's hardly breaking news since Owen turned 2 over a month ago, however the birthday celebration was such a blast overall, it just had to be recorded for posterity.

Owen's actual birthday fell on Wednesday, September 13th. Since his party was not scheduled until Saturday, we celebrated his real birthday with what seems to be a developing tradition...a family trip to Chuck E Cheese. He loved it even more than last year. AND, we were able to snap some of the same shots as last year for side-by-side comparison.

Ah, some things never change...

On Thursday of that week, we had a little celebration at Owen's school where he was the King of the Class (well, at least the Birthday Prince).

But the real celebration, the BIG BASH, took place on Saturday, September 16th. We filled the house with friends and family and had a big, big time ringing in Owen's second year. He loved every single second of the entire day and was all smiles and laughs as he soaked up loads of attention from everyone. He ate cake like there was a pending famine and even told people in the following days that he had a "cake party!" And as the big surprise, a real train showed up to shuttle friends around the neighborhood in celebration of Owen's special day. It was just a huge success all around.

I was particularly thrilled with how both the candy bar and cd turned out...

If these photos just weren't enough and you really want to see more, we've got you covered. Click here for more pictures of the birthday shindig.

And if a picture is worth a thousand words, then certainly a video would add a few more details to the story. See a quick video synopsis of Owen's party here. Just want the Reader's Digest version? Here it is...

It was a very Happy, Happy Birthday indeed!

Sounds like a terrific party - Cousin Nick truly appreciates its coolness! He's a huge train buff as well - his favorite stop these days is the railroad museum or the Thomas section at the Target! Hugs to the birthday boy from us!
Love,
Chris, Pam & Nick
